The design of the RAP was based on a community-endorsed Aboriginal artwork by Gumbaynggirr artist, Josie Rose called ‘Regeneration’. NSW Treasury also purchased Josie’s original artwork to hang in its offices (pictured below).
Josie Rose is a Gumbaynggirr woman who expresses her contemporary Gumbaynggirr cultural heritage through art. For ‘Regeneration’ her chosen medium was acrylic paint on canvas and the design embodies both creative and cultural expression.
Josie’s inspiration comes from a deep place of spiritual connection to her family, community, culture and respect for Mother Earth. Gumbaynggirr Country is a beautiful land with both freshwater and saltwater waterways which inspire Josie’s holistic connection to Ancestors.
NSW Treasury’s RAP brings together the organisation’s strategy with current and planned activities that outlines its commitment to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within its footprint.
