Working with the athletes, Balarinji created a design that expressed energy and strength through, the power of diversity. The Australian Paralympic Committee commissioned the designs from Balarinji, recognising the Studio’s global profile.
Balarinji subsequently lit up the sails of the Sydney Opera House with the designs.
Chef de Mission Kate McLoughlin said, “we feel that these design elements of the 2016 Paralympic uniform help capture the spirit and history of our country and we’re very excited to see our Team wear it in Rio, in front of what is expected to be the largest global audience the Paralympic movement has ever reached.”
