Balarinji created the branding design based on Warlpiri artist Maureen Hudson Nampijinpa’s stunning artwork Travelling Dreaming.
Travelling Dreaming represents the travels of many groups of women during Tjukurpa (Law or Lore time) in the area of Yarrungaunyi, on Mount Doreen Station west of Yuendumo, north-west of Alice Springs, Northern Territory. This is Maureen’s mother’s Country.
All the different “skin groups” are represented, their campsites being the circles, and the connecting lines the route of their creation journeys. It is about journey’s and defined points of belonging in pathways across Australia.
The camp symbols in the logo represent all the sporting codes and teams in Australia that embrace Indigenous participation and development.
