Australia has a world-class design sector that is not being leveraged to its full capacity. The aim of the Australian Design Council is to drive national prosperity and long-term growth through design.
As a not-for-profit industry body, the Australian Design Council will advocate for a design-led future for Australia and champion the role and importance of design to address complex social, economic and environmental challenges.
“Design at its most powerful reflects a designer’s own unique place in the world – physical, spiritual, cultural, emotional, psychological. In Australia, there’s a freedom, an informality, a sense of experimentation and individualism. At their best, Australian designers show an openness, a lack of self-consciousness, a willingness to experiment and take creative risks.
