Congratulations to Transport for NSW (TfNSW) for the launch of its inaugural Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).
Balarinji founders, Ros and John Moriarty, were thrilled to attend the launch event in September 2019.
Balarinji is in full support of TfNSW’s commitment to developing respectful relationships and creating meaningful opportunities with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
The RAP was designed by Balarinji using artwork from acclaimed Yaegal artist Frances Belle Parker called ‘Our Songlines are Calling’.
Many of the main roads and railway lines across New South Wales are based on the Songlines and trading tracks of local Aboriginal communities. Frances tells us her artwork is the story of both the modern commute and the 40,000 years of journeys that have led to this point in time.
