Connecting with Country consultancy services provided by Balarinji aimed to help the project develop principles in action to realise a project that will:
- Protect the health and wellbeing of Country and, therefore, of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, noting that a healthy land leads to healthy outcomes.
- Embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander knowledge into the design and planning of the built environment to make NSW a better place for all its citizens.
Balarinji developed a strategy and framework that detailed the process for how Connecting with Country is and will be addressed for the duration of the project.
The strategy and framework were developed in collaboration with the project team to support its State Significant Development Application (SSDA) submission.
Balarinji continues to provide cultural design advice to ensure the strategy and framework respond to feedback as part of the SSDA and State Design Review Panel meetings.
